Loneliness is a problem for many elderly people, so the project Participartory Interiors For a Senior Community Centre helps find a solution. Participation in this project takes two forms. The first is a specific interior design strategy that motivates people to spend more time together, talking, playing games or doing things collectively. The second way is organising workshops, which are not only a great tool to bring seniors together, but also actively involve them in the process of creating new interiors. Workshop participants share ideas, develop concepts and create a curtain for their new interior.The outcome of the project will be creation of an interior design project for the community centre of the Grīziņkalns neighbourhood, where special attention is paid to ergonomics for the elderly and for everyone who requires inclusive space design.
