The ideas of microfactories are based on the research of three topics: process – material – product. The order of these topics is not a coincidence. The design process began with the identification of different manufacturing principles and processing methods. This was then followed by research and experiments with materials that are interesting and challenging for the author, looking for new possibilities for the application of materials. Finally comes thinking about the product, a natural result of the properties of the material and the applied processes. The task of the students is to turn this combination into a one-employee microfactory. How to produce a product yourself in small quantities attractively and efficiently? The students show the answer in short films.
